What have we been up to?
On 20th December, the Reading A440 Choir sang Carols in the Great Westminster Hall at the Palace of Westminster.
Occasions Singers were part of the choir, and here we are after the event, making our way home along the Embankment in the freezing cold!
On 7th of December
, Occasions Singers joined the Reading A440 choir at a special service to remember loved ones who are no longer with us.
The service consisted of beautiful seasonal music and inspirational readings. There was an opportunity to light a candle in memory of a loved one, and also to write a prayer card.
Memorial Service at Easthampstead Park Crematorium
On Sunday, 7th of September, 2014, Occasions Singers were asked to sing at the Annual Memorial Service at EPC.
We feel so privileged to have been part of this Service, now in its 27th year.
As usual, it was a beautiful, warm day - the Salvation Army Band provided lovely music for the hymns and The Salvation Army Singers performed very sensitively.
Occasions Singers sang 'As Long as I have Music', 'Jerusalem' and the 'Gaelic Blessing', all very well received. Afterwards, we spoke with many new friends over a cup of tea... from the many positive comments we received, we're even more convinced that music can be of great comfort...
On Saturday, 21st June 2014, at 10am, Occasions Singers sang at a Memorial Service at Slough Crematorium.
'The service is held to give family and friends a day in which they can openly come together and acknowledge their loss in an environment of love, support and understanding no matter how much time has passed. It is not a religious service; it is a service for people of all faiths and none. It is a chance for all those who have lost a baby or child due to miscarriage, neonatal death or other tragic causes to come together and celebrate the life that was and for us always will remain precious, valued, cherished and so deeply loved.'
We always feel deeply privileged to be asked to sing at this annual event, such a worthy and heartbreaking cause.

Annual Open Air Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance
Date: September 6th, 2015
Easthampstead Park Crematorium
Occasions Singers were proud to have been asked to sing at this lovely event for the past several years.
"I was delighted to hear Occasions again this year [at the Annual Open Air Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance, 2014], your performance without any shadow of a doubt was a great credit to you all. I had people coming up afterwards just to say how well you all performed and sounded.."
Linda Gizzie Cemetery and Crematorium Manager, Easthampstead
The first Until We Meet Again last year was a beautiful event that touched the hearts of the many people who attended. Occasions Singers were joined again by the Reading A440 Choir. Each group presented a programme of traditional Christmas Carols with audience participation, as well as contemporary pieces, and time for reflection.
In December, 2015, we were proud to have been invited to join BLAKE again at South Hill Park, supporting them in their fabulous Christmas show, which included many favourite seasonal songs.
This great event was the usual mix of Blake's beautifully inspirational singing and sparkling humour, and we very much enjoyed being on stage with them once again!
Godspell in Concert
We had such a fantastic time on April 24th 2015, now sadly behind us!
The show was really inspirational, the audience was great, and we had a great evening, on stage with a fantastic West End cast! Photos of the after-show party below...
